Notes from the meeting, Spring 2024

-As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything at all.  Whether its training, insurance, advice, or a safe-space to ask questions and vent, Gray and I are here for you!

-If you need display table materials for Annual Conference, please let me know what you need and I’ll get it shipped to you. Right now I have brochures, cards for Gray and I, newsletter sign-up sheets available. I can also have printed: stickers, business cards for coordinators, and small banner signs for your table, but those will need to be ordered.  I am working on a video for Annual Conferences, and hope to have it by May.

-If Team Leader trainings are a need in your Annual Conference, and you need more information before leading these yourself in your conferences, please reach out to me and I can help schedule a time to get you up to speed.  As coordinator, you do have some leeway on how you want trainings to be done.  Terri Morgan in Virginia shared some thoughts about training in the Virginia Conference during the meeting, and would be happy to share those ideas about training if you want to contact her.

-After hearing from each of you, we will look to gather in person in the Spring of 2024, rather than fall of this year.  This gathering will hopefully be in conjunction with the UMVIM, SEJ Board, and perhaps a wider audience for an “academy” style event.  More info to come.

-You may get some questions about UMVIM and how churches who are disaffiliating can stay partnered with us.  UMVIM is open for anyone to use our resources and insurance, and has a history of working with churches outside the UMC.

-We received a donation to help develop young leadership in UMVIM, and I will be sending more info soon about potential scholarships for young mission leaders in the SEJ and needing your help for selecting candidates.
